Hannah has been a Primary School Teacher for 3 years in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated school in Southampton. In this time, she has successfully mentored several trainee teachers and taken on subject leadership roles. As the RE leader she introduced a ‘Serving Calendar’ intended to create opportunities for the pupils and staff to serve and impact their local and wider community. The school is linked to Hope School in Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Hannah is passionate about supporting this school in providing the best possible education for its pupils.
From a young age Hannah has had a keen interest in reading and in creative writing. During her secondary school years, she had poems published in young people’s anthologies and won an in-school award for a short story. At University she studied English Literature, during which course she undertook modules in Creative Writing. She then completed a Masters in Eighteenth Century Studies, focusing again on Literature and Social History. In her capacity as Primary Teacher, Hannah has excelled in encouraging her pupils to be passionate about writing, and to explore and experiment with vocabulary and grammar to create the intended effects on their readers.
